Deciding to Try for Number Two

If it had been completely up to me, we probably would have started trying to conceive again pretty soon after Piper was born. I love being a mom and I loved being pregnant. I always knew I wanted my children to be close together in age. Tim, being the more practical half of this relationship, (you know, the one who thinks about finances and stuff) wanted to wait. So, I (not so) patiently waited until he was ready.

On Christmas Day in 2009, Tim gave me a card with a very sweet message written inside. He had decided he was finally ready to grow our family. He had even made an appointment for me to have my IUD removed. So, in January 2010, we ditched the birth control and began trying.

I was so blissfully ignorant back then. I honestly believed that I would have a baby in my arms by the end of the year. We weren't even trying the first time, surely it would be easy the second time, right? We took a casual approach at first. After 6 months with no luck, I started charting my basal body temperature and paying more attention to my body, so we could try to better our timing.

We were thrilled, when almost a year ago, on July 29, 2010 we found out we were finally expecting.
