Hannah Prays

This was the lesson I had to teach to the Preschool class this morning at church. It was hard. Really hard. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the bible story about Hannah, the short version is, she prayed for a baby and God gave her a son. You can read about it in 1 Samuel chapter 1. I knew this was going to be a tough lesson for me. I got emotional every time I read through it while I was preparing this past week. I've been praying for strength all week. The only really tough part was when the lesson prompted me to ask if any of the kids had ever had a baby at their house. My sweet Piper said, in the saddest little voice you've ever heard, "I don't have a baby at my house." Yep. Broke my heart. Other than that, it went pretty well.

As much as I've dreaded this all week, I do find it interesting that this lesson just happened to land on my Sunday to teach. I'm choosing to take it as a sign not to give up. God answers prayers.
