Another Great Appointment

I've been terrible about keeping my blog updated. It's really still hard for me to believe this is all real.

We had an excellent appointment last Thursday. Both babies are measuring right on schedule (Baby B caught up!) and both had beautiful, strong heartbeats. They're starting to actually look like babies. I'm still having some light bleeding off and on (which Dr. C told me to expect,) but the blood clot is no longer visible on the ultrasound! That's great news!

We told Piper last week. She is so excited and so cute! She doesn't want two boys, but she hopes one is a boy so her Daddy won't be all alone. She is just too sweet! Every night when she prays, she thanks God for her "baby brother and baby sister or two brothers or two sisters. Whatever He gives her." She's going to be such a great big sister!

I'm definitely feeling pregnant these days. The morning (afternoon and night) sickness is seriously kicking my butt. I hate to complain, because I know there are so many women who would give anything to be in my shoes, but no one likes to throw up. It sucks! As unpleasant as it is, though, feeling sick is very reassuring and I'll take it! I'm living on carbs and orange juice right now. If I stand for too long, my hips and lower back really ache. Everything is starting to loosen to make room for my growing babies.

I'm finally starting to let myself get a little excited. I still have a "one day at a time" mindset, though. People are asking me about names and talking about when they get here or when I start feeling them move. I can't even think about that yet. I'm just trying to make it to tomorrow. It's tough being pregnant after loss. At this point, there's no reason to think everything isn't okay, but it's so hard not to worry. Each good appointment allows me to breathe a little easier, though. I'm hoping once I get through the first trimester I'll be able to relax and really enjoy my pregnancy.
