The PCOS diagnosis likely explains my losses. Women with PCOS have a 50% miscarriage rate as opposed to the 15% rate for the rest of the population. This is likely due to late ovulation/poor egg quality and/or the hormonal imbalances that go along with PCOS. With fertility treatments, the miscarriage rate does drop.
He gave me provera to force start a cycle, but I have to wait two weeks and get a negative pregnancy test before I can start it. Then I'll be taking femara (a fertility drug) for days 3 - 7, which will hopefully force me to ovulate. I'll have an ultra-sound on day 11 or 12 to see if I have any almost mature follicles. Then, we try to get pregnant.
I don't know if this is THE answer, but it's nice to have some kind of answer and a plan. I'm feeling slightly more hopeful. I'm so ready for this part of our journey to be over and I feel like we're a step closer now.
((hugs)) It's nice to have a diagnosis I'm sure but still hard to hear sometimes. Thinking and praying for you. Hope fermera works for you love.
